The Sidel Group has acquired the company Makro Labeling to expand its offer in labeling technologies and to start a new stage of international development for Makro Labeling Srl. “We will offer a better experience and greater flexibility to our customers in labeling, which strengthens our position in the same segment and expands our reach in dynamic markets such as wine, spirits, food and household and personal care products. The modular labeling machines that Makro produces for speeds ranging from low to medium, will complement our technologies in higher speeds that are manufactured in our plant in Mantua, in Italy, and are integrated into Sidel’s packaging lines. We warmly welcome all the employees of Makro Labeling who are now part of the Sidel Group,” said Monica Gimre, CEO & President of Sidel.
Sidel has been developing labeling solutions for 40 years. It maintains its own labeller plant in Mantua, where it has advanced its technologies in the area, which reach speeds of 90,000 containers per hour and are perfectly integrated into Sidel’s complete lines and the Super Combi series.
“Following the acquisition, Makro will maintain full autonomy as a unit of the Sidel Group and will continue to operate independently from its current headquarters. At the same time, it will be able to take advantage of and develop interesting synergies, exchange best practices, offer an even richer experience for our employees and a broader portfolio to our customers,” said Simone Marcantoni, managing director of Makro Labeling.
Makro Labeling is a company of modular labeling machines founded in 2009 by five partners who are still the ones who manage it today and who bring 30 years of experience. Makro machines can apply up to five labels per bottle with hot or cold adhesive, self-adhesive system and combined versions. Sidel’s approach to Makro, a rapidly growing company with a global reach, offers a key opportunity for both companies. Makro is located in Goito (Mantua, Italy) and has more than 120 employees.
