Last week the Saica Group won two of the prizes of the National Flexography Competition, awarded by the Spanish Technical Association of Flexography (ATEF). He did this thanks to two solutions from Saica Pack, the group’s division that produces corrugated cardboard packaging. The awards fell on a box of six bottles with a built-in grid and on a case of one bottle, both for the client Bodegas Habla. ATEF thus recognized the high quality printing presented by both solutions, made at the Saica Pack plant in Alcobendas (Madrid).
Every year, ATEF recognizes the best practices in flexography. The winners then participate in the ‘Diamond Awards’ and compete at European level in the event organized by FTA Europe. At this year’s edition, which took place on Flexography Day, ATEF presented the 2020 and 2022 awards, since the former could not be awarded, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The award-winning Saica Pack products are a work for the wines ‘Habla del mar’ (2022) and ‘Habla de ti’ (2021). These are packages that are made in a state-of-the-art Masterflex HD, with 8 printer/color groups, with high linearity anilox, and that have been awarded thanks to their high quality printing.
Flexographic printing machines use flexible relief plates, which allow printing on a wide range of materials, such as plastic, metal and paper.
The printing of the packaging is an attribute that gives great power to the brand when it comes to differentiating itself in the market and attracting the attention of the final consumer. Saica Pack’s sustainable packaging solutions offer its customers the customization of their quality product, to facilitate its differentiation and increase its competitiveness in the market. All this, without neglecting the social and environmental commitment.
For José Carlos Mañuz, head of the Technical Office of Saica Pack Alcobendas, “the awarding of these awards recognizes the Saica Group’s continuous commitment to innovation. One of the main values that characterizes the group’s activity and that makes the Saica Pack division its own, especially with regard to the design of new projects. In this way, we demonstrate that it is possible to integrate sustainability into the exercise of its activity and, at the same time, be a benchmark in the packaging sector”.
